What is Miyazawa initiative?

In the wake the 1997 Asian financial crisis, the Miyazawa initiative of October 1998, named after Japan's Finance Minister Kiichi Miyazawa at the time, set up bilateral monetary swap arrangement between Asian countries, including Malaysia and South Korea.
