Why the document written in the first constitution?

The first constitution, often referring to the Articles of Confederation in the United States, was created to establish a framework for governance and to unify the thirteen colonies after independence from British rule. It aimed to balance the need for a central authority with the desire for individual state sovereignty. However, its weaknesses, such as the lack of a strong executive branch and the inability to levy taxes, ultimately led to the drafting of the current U.S. Constitution in 1787. This new document sought to address these shortcomings and create a more effective federal government.
