How do anoles suvive in the winter?

Anoles, particularly in temperate regions, survive winter by entering a state of brumation, which is similar to hibernation. During this period, their metabolic rate decreases significantly, allowing them to conserve energy. They often seek shelter in crevices, under leaf litter, or inside rotting logs to protect themselves from cold temperatures. If temperatures drop too low, some species can experience temporary paralysis but can recover once conditions improve.
