How do you get your dog to stop biting the furniture?

First of all tell your dog "NO" in a firm deep voice when you catch him or her chewing on the furniture. Give your dog something else to chew on, such as nylabones or other hard toys that are safe for dogs. Also keep him busy, make sure to take your dog on a daily walk of at least 20 minutes, 45 minutes is best. Make it a nice fast paced walk. Walk your dog on a leash & choke chain only, never let your dog off the leash while taking walks. Go to a local Obedience school. Ask your Veterinarian or the local Animal Shelter where the obedience classes are. Find your local all breed dog club and join. They will offer lots of things to do with your dog. It will be fun for both you and your dog.
