Did aborigines have horses

Australia had no horses until it was colonized by the British 1788. The aborigines appear to have been overwhelmed by colonization before they had any real opportunity to develop a horse culture as did the Native Americans.

Many Aborigines employed in the ranching industry were/are Excellent horsemen according to brief research.
