When a 1990 Toyota Camry drivers side automatic seat belt does not work right you have to shut or slam the door two to three times to get it to work Any views what might be wrong.?

Well, normally cars'seat belts don't allow themselves to be pulled any further or aer "stuck" when the brake is on as to not cause injuries. For example, the car is designed to "hold onto"the seat belt automatically if you hit the brakes so you wont hit the glass in an accident.

So I'm guessing that maybe if you don't close the door right, the seatbelt wont work. But im not really sure, you might want to see someone about it..
