You turn off the check engine light on any vehicle by finding out why it is on and fixing the problem. That light is on because one of the electrical leads going to the engine's computer is saying, "We have a problem." You can hook up the car to a computer and find out what the problem is. You can attach a light down below the dash and count the number of times it blinks and check a chart to get the number and then compare the number to a chart and find the problem. Or, you can cut the wire behind the dash.
