What is anne's relationship between miep?

Late during the time the eight were in hiding, it became apparent that Anne needed glasses. Miep was willing to take Anne right down the street to an optometrist, and pick up the glasses later, telling the optometrist that the patient (Anne) was "sick in bed" that day. Anne was terrified at the thought of going out on the street, but said she would do whatever her parents decided. They elected to think about it over night, and the next day told Miep that they felt it was too risky.
