Since most acids react badly with other chemical compounds, it is less likely as the active killer compound would decompose and become either inactive or maybe even very dangerous for humans.
Bug sprays normally contain poison, often nervepoison (malathion). This because the nerves and such in insects work different than those in mammals (IE Humans, Pigs, Livestock etc).
Acid would most likely kill off bugs, but cause severe damage to anything you spray it on.
Insect Spray may still cause damage as in miscoloring on cloths and fabric.
