What is cough and exudate?

A cough is a reflex action that helps clear the airways of mucus, irritants, or foreign particles. Exudate refers to a fluid that leaks out of blood vessels into surrounding tissues, often due to inflammation or infection, and can contain proteins, cells, and other substances. In respiratory conditions, exudate may manifest as mucus or phlegm expelled during coughing. Together, they can indicate underlying health issues, such as infections or respiratory diseases.
