What are the activities of ancient salesmen?

In ancient Greece, mainly archaic greece, salesmen would set up shops in there own homes, opening up a certain room to the public durinh the days. What they sold varied, from farmers selling surplus and city men selling weapons, metal, odds and ends or trinkets made by the women of the home.
