What is the difference between insects and animals?

Insects are a specific class of animals within the phylum Arthropoda, characterized by their exoskeleton, three main body segments (head, thorax, abdomen), and six legs. While all insects are animals, not all animals are insects; the animal kingdom encompasses a vast diversity of organisms, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish, which have different biological structures and life processes.
