Marshall Saint Ruth was a prominent figure in the late 17th century, known primarily for his role as a military leader and commander in the service of France. He gained recognition for his involvement in various military campaigns, particularly during the Nine Years' War. Saint Ruth was also notable for his leadership of the French forces during the Williamite War in Ireland, where he played a significant role in several battles. His military career was ultimately cut short when he was killed at the Battle of Aughrim in 1691.
