Can an 60in x 74in L-shaped granite counter be done in one piece?

Most reputable shops like mine hate to seam granite, so we just use plenty of men as long as there is plenty of room to manuver. Granite slabs are usually 60" to 72" wide, and 90" to 120" long, so there usually isn't a problem cutting a top that size. Another answer: Normally, yes. Most granite is taken from slabs approx. 8'x8'. The downside is that this size top would be incredibly heavy and awkward to position into place. The chances of it 'snapping' during installation are very good.

Professional granite shops should be able to install a multi-piece top with a matching seam that is virtually unnoticeable. My suggestion is to first contact several shops and ask your original question (after all, they are ultimately responsible for the top). If they are willing to do it for you...go for it.
