To successfully root cuttings in water, follow these steps:
- Choose a healthy plant stem with several nodes.
- Cut the stem at a 45-degree angle just below a node.
- Place the cutting in a container of water, making sure the nodes are submerged.
- Change the water every few days to prevent rot.
- Keep the cutting in a warm, bright location but out of direct sunlight.
- Roots should start to form in a few weeks. Once roots are established, transplant the cutting into soil.
