Where was Aaliyah going on the accident?

Aaliyah was traveling to Miami, Florida, after filming a music video in the Bahamas when the tragic plane accident occurred on August 25, 2001. She and several others were on board a private plane that crashed shortly after takeoff. The flight was intended to bring them back to the United States.
