Is there a correlation between the natural food source and shark attacks on people?

it all depends on what type of shark species you are referring to. Great White Sharks are thought to be man eaters because of the feature film Jaws, which is incorrect. Bull sharks, and Tiger sharks on the other hand will eat anything that comes in their path. Literally. they have found nails, fur coats, handbags, and so on the stomachs of tiger sharks. But usually in the case of Great White's attacks on humans is a mistake of identity. if you can imagine looking up to the surface of the water and seeing a surfer with their arms and legs hanging off the board, this looks terribly like a California Sea Lion to a shark. But there have been instances where Great White's have come extremely close to shore and attacked a human because the animal was sick, and food deprived. so to answer the question, we don't know yet, unless we can get inside the head of a shark, it is extremely hard to know for certain. But as it looks in my personal opinion, yes it seems likely.
