When did dodos exist?

In the late 17th century. It was about 200 years ago. I'm not quite sure, but I think it was about 200 years ago. Discovered circa 1600 and inhabiting only the island of Mauritius in the Indian ocean, the dodo was eaten to extinction by about 1680.
