How can insects be controlled without the use of insecticides?

Sanitation, exclusion, proofing, harborage reduction. Reducing pest pressure reduces likelihood of problems. Roaches need food debris. Rats/mice need a way in. Flies don't breed in dumpsters routinely changed out. Fruit flies don't breed in drains cleaned routinely. Silicone can eliminate most hiding places roaches favor.
