Why is my holly shrub turning brown and the leaves are dry and falling off?

Tough to answer without seeing it, but it's very likely it's incurred winter damage. If ALL the leaves are falling off, chances are it will not come back. Make certain when purchasing plants that they are fully cold-hardy in your area. My husband and I just had landscaping done in our front yard. One of the holly trees is loosing its leaves, even the green ones. What is going one?
