Étienne Brûlé is believed to have landed in what is now Canada around 1610. He is often credited as one of the first European explorers to venture into the interior of Canada, specifically in the area of present-day Ontario. Brûlé traveled extensively with Indigenous peoples, particularly the Huron, and is known for his role in establishing relations between Indigenous groups and French colonizers. His explorations contributed to the mapping and understanding of the Great Lakes region.
