Can you fix a controller if it is wet?

i was wasdhing my hand and my wii controller got wet and when i dried it it was still not working at all so then i got a towel dried it then a blow dryer then i whiped it with my shirt let it sit for a whole 4 days then it was fixed and ready to work again
