Opening the session:

"The Honorable, the Chief Justice and the Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States."

As the Justices enter the courtroom:

"Oyez, oyez, oyez: All persons having business before the Honorable, the Supreme Court of the United States, are admonished to draw near and give their attention, for the Court is now sitting. God save the United States and this honorable Court."

Opening Oral Arguments:

Chief Justice Roberts: We'll hear argument first this morning in (for example) Case 08-1301, Carr v. United States.

Mr Rothfeld*: Thank you, Mr. Chief Justice, and may it please the Court: [argument]
