Can you house a red ackie monitor in a 40 gallon tank?

While a 40-gallon tank may be suitable for a juvenile red ackie monitor, it is not ideal for an adult. Red ackies can grow to about 3-4 feet in length and require ample space to move, explore, and thermoregulate. As they grow, you'll need to upgrade to a larger enclosure, ideally at least 8 feet long, to accommodate their size and provide appropriate environmental enrichment.
