What is a baby dik dik?

A baby dik-dik is a young member of the small antelope species known as dik-diks, which are native to the bushlands of eastern and southern Africa. At birth, these tiny animals weigh around 1-2 kilograms and stand about 30 centimeters tall. Dik-dik mothers typically give birth to a single calf, which they hide in dense vegetation to protect it from predators. The young dik-dik begins to accompany its mother after a few weeks and grows rapidly in its early months.
