How do you dispose of a scalpel used to dissect a rat?

Scalpel blades are steel, so a container for recyclable steel would be good. Wrap it in tape first, though, to err on the side of caution if at all. Or the used syringe disposal box at your phycisians, or at the local hospital or similar. Shouldn't be too hard, really.
