Do palmetto bugs live in palmetto trees?

People say they don't bite, but I have experienced a bite from one.

It seemed like a bite and the area were I was bit was in the stomach area. The Bug was trapped in my shirt and when I sat down is when I felt a pinch. Left a small red dot on my stomach.
