Hase anyone clamed to se a mermaid?

Mermaids are mythological creatures. There have been many claimed sightings of them but nothing has ever been proven.

• Yes, I have. I was at a picnic once by a lake and I walked off down the shore. I found a big fallen tree, and there was a girl watching me from the water. When she saw me, she disappeared, but I saw a flick of her tail foin under the water.
