Heat is a form of energy that does not emit visible light. It can only be perceived indirectly through its effects, like feeling hot or detecting an increase in temperature. Our eyes can only detect certain wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation, so we are unable to "see" heat in the same way we see visible light.
