Why is Boo Radley stuck in his house?

he is put in jail because him and a group of bad kids, locked Mr. Corner in the basement of the courthouse, and then stole the police car. Mr Radley then looks Boo up at home after they refuse to send him to a reform school, because Mr. Radley believed that it would be an embarrassment to his family.
