To re-season a wok properly, first scrub it with hot, soapy water to remove any old seasoning. Dry it thoroughly, then heat it on the stove until it's very hot. Add a thin layer of oil and swirl it around to coat the entire surface. Let it heat until it starts to smoke, then turn off the heat and let it cool. Repeat this process a few times to build up a new seasoning layer.
