Matthew E. Welsh (born September 15, 1912 in Detroit, Michigan; died May 28, 1995 in Indianapolis, Indiana) succeeded Harold W. Handley as the forty-first Governor of Indiana, serving between January 9, 1961 and January 11, 1965, including the whole of 1964.
