Who wrote Sleepy Hollow?

The short story, "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", was written by Washington Irving and published in 1820 in his collection, The Sketch Book of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent.

The movie, Sleepy Hollow, was based on the short story and was adapted by Kevin Yagher and Andrew Kevin Walker.
