As I just found out the hard way - Minwax Polyshade is NOT RECOMMENDED for floors.

My 'expert' at the hardware didn't mention this when he recommended it for my hardwood floors.

The manufacturer does NOT recommend it and I also see its written on the can 'not for floors'.

I should have checked that myself except the home hardware 'expert' assured me it was great and 'more durable'.

It is NOT more durable. In fact, the very problem is that it will be LESS durable. It might even look good but it will scrape and even peel and shred up the first time you move a chair back and forth,

or even a harder sole on a shoe or boot will tear it up.

It will leave you with a very soft 'plastic' coat that will easily scar, scrape off or dull!

IF you are like me and already made the mistake of staining a hardwood floor with Minwax 'one step' Polyshade then (Im told and will find out soon) the only solution (next to removing it) is to buy a very good and proper hardwood floor polyurethane 'top coat' and lay down 2 coats over top.
