Did bulldogs ever take down bulls?

Pitbuls, were officaly used for hunting (maybe to fight the bulls :: not that sure! LOL)

They are not many used for that Today, but people use them as Safe Animal Pets!''

But they are dangerous! In New Zealand ( Every Pitbul MUST be muzzled, when walking or even if they are growling at you. They have a dangerous streek to them.

Some people love PitBulls, but they find most of them turn on the owners.

Bulldogs were originally bred to fight bulls (and bears!) in England during the 1600's. They we also used in dog fights. They also participated in the hunting down of wild bulls and bulls that escaped from abattoirs. The dog and animal sports became illegal in the 1800's and the bulldog was bread to maintain is good characteristics while breeding out the bad ones.
