What is LOST about?

LOST is a series centered around the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. The storyline follows the 'adventures', if you will, of the marooned survivors. As the series progresses beyond Season One, everything sort of takes on a whole new shape, though. We meet the island's former inhabitants, learn about the island's 'original purpose', unlock some of its mysteries, and eventually realize that, not only is this island more than meets the eye, but that it may have a power far greater than anyone could have imagined.
