Can you hook up a PC monitor to a DVD player and use it just for movies in a cabin No TV reception or cable anyway?

A PC can be hooked directly to a television, but not a DVD player for use in a cabin. By using the CD drive in the computer, movies can be played on the computer and viewed on the television. All a person needs is an HD or Ethernet cable.
