Types of affixes

Derivational suffixes are when a suffix is added to the Word to make a new part of speech such as adding "ly" to create an adverb (e.g., slow to slowly).

Inflectional suffixes are when a suffix is added to the Word to indicate its grammatical behavior, for example adding "es" to create a plural (e.g., match to matches).
