Get copy of text message

I called Verizon on this one and they said that all text messages are saved in their database and the only way to get a copy of one is thru a subpeona.

I wonder why, since i own the text messages I've sent, that i could not get a copy of it, I paid for it.. hmm..

Personally, i think they should not be saved. It is just another way "big brother" has to control us. Very sad. Text message can also be taken out of context and misunderstood.
