Why do young men prefer older women?

From an evolutionary psychology standpoint, men are attracted to young, fertile women because they have a much higher chance of producing a healthy child and being able to care for that child until it is able to survive and live on it's own.

Men are attracted to young girls probably because they do not come with the excess baggage of a mature woman. They are a decadence, if you will. Fresh and new. It's one of the oldest sins comitted in the newest way. They have no wrinkles and they don't sag in any way shape or form. These men are typically immature emmotionally. They may not feel, physically, like they're the cronological age that they actually are. They may also have a very high sex drive as they did when they were the age of the girls they are looking at. They could also be addicted to pornography and continue to degregate their search for more and more unique forms of sexual content with no intention of acting out those fantasies. I'm sure most, if not all, men who were shown pictures of a pretty 15 or 16 year old girl would get aroused. The problem lies in the quantity of and/or the acting out of these fantasies. Do you want to take a chance with a man who has a preoccupation with pubescant girls. Be conservative on this one...Just play it safe and stay away.
