Who would win in a fight between a dog and a panther?

Well... Considering that panthers and Wolves live in completely different areas.... I don't think this is a plausible question BUT I believe that one on one a panther would win, but it wouldn't be one on one because wolves close to always live/hunt/ and feed in a pack. And also.... a wolf would probably not be stupid enough to take on an opponent he/she knew they couldn't win, they would run away with their tail between their legs and their ears back, unless it was for territory then the wolf might try to defend, or it might just move on to another area.
