Why does George warn linnies to stay away from curley?

George warns the men to stay away from Curley's wife because he knows she can cause trouble due to her flirtatious behavior. He is concerned that Curley will become jealous and start a fight which could jeopardize their chance of finding work. Additionally, he wants to protect Lennie from any unnecessary trouble or harm.
