Why didn't Jiraiya tell Naruto who his parents are?

Naruto wasn't told who his father was because if Word got out he was the the Fourth Hokages son he would have assassins from other hidden villages trying to kill him (Ex. Iwagakure) and others trying to abduct him and use him for his power and potential (Ex. Danzo and Kumogakure)
