Spanish word for girlfriend

Among adults it's usually querido or querida(dear/wanted/loved [one]). Dulce (sweet) is used sometimes. Miel (honey) is also used. From adults to children you usually hear mihija or mihijo (my daughter/son). Besides being used by parents to their children, these latter terms are also used by total strangers with children in distress.
