Does Dr Smith die at the end of Lost in Space Voyage to the Bottom of the Soul?

In the original "Lost in Space" TV series, Dr. Smith does not die at the end. However, in the 1998 film "Lost in Space," the character of Dr. Smith dies but is later resurrected through time travel.
