What data relates to the bolt thread pitch?

Standard thread are meassured in number of threads per inch (example 1/4-20) 1/4 inch dia. bolt with 20 threads per inch.

Metric threads are measured in mm between thread (M8 x 1.5), an 8 MM bolt with a thread pitch of 1.5MM between threads.
