The air bag light comes on if there's a problem detected someplace in the system. It doesn't necessarily mean you've hit or been hit by something hard enough to deploy the bags. Find an auto supply store that will loan you an OBDII code reader (or buy one, they're inexpensive on eBay). Plug the reader into the OBDII port under the dash to the right of the steering column. The reader will tell you where the car's ECU 'thinks' the problem is. Once the issue is corrected you can use the code reader to turn off the light. Cheers
