Jets produce sound primarily through two mechanisms: engine noise and aerodynamic noise. The engines generate sound as hot gases are expelled at high speeds, creating a roar. Additionally, as the aircraft moves through the air, turbulence around the wings and other surfaces generates aerodynamic noise. The combination of these sounds, especially at supersonic speeds, results in the characteristic loud roar often associated with jets.
