How do you know a woodchuck is pregnant?

A pregnant woodchuck, or groundhog, can often be identified by physical changes such as weight gain and a noticeable increase in abdomen size as the pregnancy progresses. Behavioral changes may also occur, including increased burrowing activity as she prepares for the arrival of her young. Additionally, if observed during the breeding season, typically from late March to early July, a female woodchuck may exhibit nesting behavior, indicating she is pregnant.
