Is christian borle gay

I never thought about this question before, I think I just assumed he was gay, but then I was watching the Smash reunion concert and there was an off the cuff comment, I'm sure was on purpose. So I thought maybe he's straight. Now I've seen him in many roles, not only Smash. His Broadway performances, his TV shows, etc. Again, I guess I just assume everyone is, until sadly I find out they are not. LOL
